Golden hour senior session

This session began at Katie’s grandparents home near Canton. I love going to places that I’ve never been, it’s equally nerve wracking and exciting. It’s like a fun game seeing how many cool spots I can find in a new area. Then add golden hour on top of it and it’s super exciting!

We started in the backyard where hiding behind a barn lay a beautiful lake surrounded by weather bleached tall grasses. It was so pretty and I totally got wrapped up in shooting and had to pry myself away to go to the next spot.

Katie was wonderful to work with, easygoing, funny and full of real smiles. We only froze a little, which was pretty lucky considering it is November!

After we finished at her grandparents we headed to Canton Lake where we had some cool spots to hit. We were racing against the sun completely setting! We were bummed when we pulled in and the gate was locked! So we all jumped back into our car and raced to the other end of town hoping to still catch a little of the sunset.

At Lakeland the sun was just about gone, but it still had a beautiful orange golden glow behind the trees. We did some shots of Katie with her FFA jacket and some next to the water that was reflecting the tree line and sunset. Finally the sun was so down that my camera refused to focus and we had to call it quits.

Later at home after downloading the images I realized how badly I overshot, lol! The gallery was suppose to be 40 images and I had well over 200 ‘keepers’! It was a great session….just take a look!
